Be more accurate in your AdWords targeting!!
Now you can be more specific to your advertising segment with AdWords’ new Demographic Bidding feature.
Before moving forward I would like to define the meaning of demographic group.
A demographic group is an audience that shares a particular trait or characteristic like an age, gender, income, or some other area.
Demographic bidding will help you to target your ads to the audiences of a certain age group or gender or to combinations of these groups. This simply means that it would help you to extend your reach to specific users according to their age group or gender, for example, if you are dealing in Fancy Ladies Clothes, so your main targeted segment will be the women of a certain age group. In this case you can target this specific segment with this new Demographic bidding feature.
So, if you want your ads to be seen by women aged 18-35, or people over 55, or with any other specifications, then demographic bidding shall help.
*This new feature is available both for keywords targeted & placement targeted campaigns.
This feature has its own limitations as we can only increase our reach to certain sites in Google network such as MySpace, Friendster & other social networking sites whose users provide that information about themselves. Usually, social networking sites ask users to submit their demographic details, however many other sites are unable to generate demographic data of their users. Sites that provide this type of information about their users; Google can often display your AdWords ads to the relevant demographic groups that you prefer, or prevent your ads from getting displayed to groups that you don’t want to reach.
(At this time, AdWords has the demographic information for users from the United States only. For this reason, demographic site selection is available only for the campaigns which target users in the United States. If your campaign doesn’t target the United States, you will not see the demographic option on the Placement Tool.)
When demographic bidding isn’t available for a site, your ad will be eligible to show to any user on that site.
Google will also help you to get more insight of your demographic results by offering Demographic reports, available in the AdWords Report Center. With this feature, you can easily find out your Ad’s performance for specific demographics.
I am sure this new feature will help all advertisers to find out their most revenue generating segments.
I think you should give it a try…it can do wonders for u!!
