Today, Google has given a modern platform to the World for web pages and applications. Google has launched its own browser Google Chrome that is streamlined, simple, clean and fast.
It’s a browser that runs today’s complex web applications much better. Google Chrome is as per the need of today’s web applications & users requirements.
It’s an open sources browser so other browser developers can take what they want out of it to bring their own creativity on it.
Here are some features that the Google Chrome Comic announces Google Chrome to be:
Stable- Google Chrome provides great stability. Browser will not crash when you are writing an important email, doc, etc.
Faster- Google Chrome starts faster & load pages faster, load applications faster; javascript can also be load faster.
Simple- Google Chrome is simplified with too many features. It is clean, simple & provides efficient user interface. You can also create application shortcuts.
Multi-Process Architecture- Google Chrome is inherently multi threaded by providing process isolation. So, separate process rendering separate tabs.
Secure- By keeping each tab in an isolated “sandbox”, Google is able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites.
New Page Tab- To view most frequently visited websites you just open a new Tab & it will automatically show most visited pages, search engines, recent bookmarks & closed tabs as well.
Google Chrome is great in collecting & tossing out the garbage, recycling the whole process even within a tab. Like if you are navigating from one domain to other so now Google can through away the old rendering engine, the old data structure & the old process.
Remove who is misbehaving with your CPU- Just like your OS you can look under the hood with Google chrome’s task manager to see what site are using the most memory, downloading the most bytes, and abusing your CPU. Now you can easily stop them in Chrome’s task manager.
You can even see plug-ins within the tabs.
The browser includes a JavaScript Virtual Machine called V8, to speed up JavaScript performance in the browser, as it’s such an important component on the web today.
Interactive- Google Chrome provides much better interactive performance of web applications, like smoother drag & drops.
Tabs Placing & Functionality- Currently tabs are below the address bar (in Mozilla) but in Google Chrome tabs are at the top. Each tab will have has its own controls & own URL box “OMNIBOX”. it also offers suggestions for searches, top pages you have visited before, pages you haven’t visited but popular etc. Also, you can easily detach the tab from window to window.
It gives full text search over your history. Now you don’t have to bookmark each page just type the related word & you will quickly back to it.
Privacy- Google Chrome has a privacy mode. You can create an “INCOGNITO” window & nothing that occurs in that window is ever logged on your computer. It’s a read only mode – you can still access your bookmarks but none of your history is saved in the browser & when you close the window, the cookies from that session are wiped out. It is similar to the InPrivate in latest version of Internet Explore.
Stop pop-ups- There is no concept of a drive-by pop-up in Google Chrome. JavaScript has no way to force a pop up and pop ups are stopped to the tab they came from & confined there. If it is something that you want to see then you can drag it out & it will be promoted to its own window.
